Bradd Weddell serves as President of the Goshen Community Schools Board of Trustees, motivated by a lifelong connection to GCS. Having attended Waterford Elementary, Goshen Middle School, and graduating from Goshen High School, he saw board service as a way to give back to the district that shaped him. Bradd most enjoys watching students grow—from their first day of school to the moment they receive their diplomas at graduation—and believes every decision the board makes should prepare students for a strong future. He sees GCS as unique for its pillars of excellence across academics, athletics, and the arts, which allow students to find opportunities that match their passions. His hope is that students graduate with positive memories that inspire them to remain part of the Goshen community and continue to support the schools that supported them.

Outside of the board, Bradd works as Vice President of Operations for a national construction program management company based in Downers Grove, Illinois. He and his wife, Kelsey, are both proud Goshen graduates and are raising three children who all currently attend Goshen Community Schools. Bradd enjoys woodworking and building with Legos in his free time. He believes GCS is strong because of the support of families, alumni, and community members, and he is grateful to serve in a role that helps strengthen those partnerships.

Keith Goodman serves as Vice President of the Goshen Community Schools Board of Trustees, where he has also held the role of Secretary during his five years of service. A proud Goshen High School graduate, Keith is passionate about public education and is especially supportive of the district’s Career and Technical Education programs. For more than a decade, he has volunteered with CTE to help provide hands-on learning opportunities and career readiness pathways for students. He believes these programs, along with strong academics and co-curricular offerings, make GCS a place where every student can discover their strengths and prepare for the future. His favorite tradition is graduation, which he describes as a special moment to celebrate students’ accomplishments and the bright futures ahead.

Outside of board service, Keith works as a commercial loan officer, partnering with local businesses and seeing firsthand how education contributes to a skilled and thriving community. He and his wife, Regina, enjoy hiking in state and national parks, and Keith also spends time woodworking in his shop. Family is important to him, and he treasures time with their five grandchildren. Keith values the role of the school board in strengthening both schools and the community, and he is committed to helping GCS students succeed in every path they pursue.

Ryan Glick serves on the Goshen Community Schools Board of Trustees with a strong desire to make a meaningful impact on students, families, and the community. He was motivated to join the board by his belief that education is one of the most powerful forces shaping the future, and he wanted to bring a fresh perspective that values transparency and community engagement. Ryan most enjoys the opportunity to be part of important decisions that directly affect students and to work alongside others who are committed to excellence in public education. He believes Goshen Community Schools stands out for its dedication to expanding opportunities, especially in career readiness and pathways that connect learning to life beyond graduation. His hope for all GCS students is that they graduate with knowledge, character, and practical skills that prepare them for success in any path they choose.

Outside of his board service, Ryan works in 3D product modeling and rendering for a marketing agency. He and his wife, Selam, have three children: Leo, Hope, and Bella. He also enjoys cycling and studying local government. Ryan believes that strong schools come from strong partnerships between families, educators, and the community, and he is grateful to serve in a role that helps foster that support.

José Elizalde serves on the Goshen Community Schools Board of Trustees, motivated by his deep love for his children, his community, and his friends. His passion for public education comes from a desire to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed and pursue their dreams. José most enjoys celebrating student accomplishments, whether in academics, athletics, or the arts, and seeing how those achievements strengthen the entire Goshen community. He believes GCS is special because of its diversity and how the district turns that diversity into one of its greatest strengths. His hope is that students receive an education that empowers them to become whoever they want to be, not one limited by circumstance or expectation.

Outside of his work on the board, José has served in many roles throughout his career—including pastor, business owner, community organizer, case manager, and director—and he currently works for The SOURCE. He holds a Master of Divinity and is the proud father of two college students. His wide-ranging experiences have shaped his commitment to equity and opportunity for all students. José believes that public education is essential to a strong democracy and urges the community to stay engaged and supportive of GCS. He remains dedicated to advocating for every child, regardless of background, to ensure they receive the best education possible.

Mario Garber serves on the Goshen Community Schools Board of Trustees, where he is completing his second term. A 1994 graduate of Goshen High School, Mario was motivated to join the board as a way to give back to the school and community that shaped him and his family. With two daughters who attended and graduated from GCS, and a wife who has been an educator for more than 28 years, education has always been close to his heart. Mario most enjoys celebrating students and their achievements and appreciates the way teachers build relationships that go beyond test scores. He believes GCS is unique for its commitment to building community and for leading the way with innovative strategies that prepare students for graduation and beyond. He hopes that every student takes full advantage of the opportunities available, even if the true value of those opportunities is realized later in life.

Outside of board service, Mario works at Hubbard Hill Retirement Community as the Director of Culinary and Environmental Services and is completing his doctorate in Healthcare Administration. He and his wife, Carrie, share a deep connection to education and enjoy live music and cheering on Minnesota sports teams. They are proud parents of two GHS graduates, Maddie and Sophia, who are continuing their education at the university level. Mario believes GCS is always striving to grow and improve, offering excellent academics, arts, athletics, and programs that give every student a place to belong. He is grateful to be part of a school community that works together to make the GCS experience unforgettable for students.

Brandon Miller serves on the Goshen Community Schools Board of Trustees, motivated by a desire to contribute to a strong public school system and help make it an even greater service to the community. He views board service as an opportunity to make a positive impact while celebrating what makes Goshen a special place to live and learn. Brandon most enjoys building relationships with community members and working together to create a shared vision for Goshen Schools. He believes the district’s strength lies in its diversity and in the proactive way GCS looks ahead when making decisions for the future. His hopes for students include seeing absenteeism rates continue to decline, improved third-grade IREAD scores, and the continued growth of career and trade pathways at the high school level that align with the new Indiana diploma track.

Outside of the board, Brandon teaches social studies at Elkhart High School. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their two dogs, often hiking together. In his free time, Brandon enjoys traveling—highlighted by a trip to see the pyramids in Egypt—and working on automotive and motorcycle builds. He values the opportunity to serve alongside the current board and Superintendent and is committed to maintaining open communication with the community. Brandon believes addressing the needs of all families is vital to helping GCS continue to thrive.

Roger Nafziger is proud to serve on the Goshen Community Schools Board, continuing a family connection to GCS where all three of his children graduated well-prepared for their next steps. He was motivated to join the board by his desire to support teachers, whom he believes hold one of the most critical roles in shaping the future of the community. Roger most enjoys being in a leadership position that allows him to help guide decisions and encourage those who dedicate their lives to education. He believes Goshen Community Schools is special because it offers not only outstanding academics, but also strong co-curricular and athletic programs that help every student find a place of belonging. He hopes that all students discover an education at GCS that equips them for success, no matter what path they choose after graduation.

Roger’s career began as a music teacher before he spent many years in financial services and development work, retiring in 2022. He and his wife are blessed with three children and six grandchildren, all living in Goshen, which keeps family life close and full. In his role as a board member, Roger emphasizes the importance of community support for public education, especially during times of state and federal challenges. He believes strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand, and he is grateful for the opportunity to help ensure that Goshen continues to thrive.
