Volunteering and Background Checks
Volunteering in Goshen Community Schools
We believe that volunteers play an important role in creating a strong and supportive learning environment. When parents and guardians give their time and talents, they not only enrich the lives of our students but also strengthen the connection between school and home. Volunteering is a meaningful way to be involved in your child’s education, build relationships with staff and students, and make a lasting impact on our schools.
Parents and guardians who would like to volunteer in Goshen Community Schools will need to complete a background check before making any commitment. Please note that if you are convicted of a felony within the last 5 years, you will not be permitted to volunteer in Goshen Community Schools. Any felonies, including dismissed cases, that occurred over 5 years ago will be approved/denied on a case-by-case basis. Any misdemeanor, including dismissed cases, will be approved/denied on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to meet with any volunteer to discuss the contents of their background check. This background check will be valid for 5 years.
