Goshen High School Launches Startup Moxie Program to Empower Young Entrepreneurs
Goshen, IN – Goshen High School (GHS) is excited to announce the launch of Startup Moxie, an
entrepreneurship program created in partnership with Startup Moxie Elkhart County and Regional Innovation
and Startup Education, Inc. (RISE). Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, GHS will serve as a satellite site
for this hands-on, community-connected program that helps high school students turn ideas into real
businesses.
Students enrolled in Startup Moxie will have the opportunity to earn 18 college credit hours (equivalent to one
semester) through Ivy Tech Community College, while building real-world skills in leadership, networking, and
innovation.
Key features include:
• Creating and pitching a personal business plan
• Regular mentorship from local business leaders
• Tours of area businesses and guest speaker events
• Classes held in professional workspaces when possible
• A year-end Pitch Showcase highlighting student ventures
Startup Moxie focuses on experiential learning in real business settings, helping students develop
presentation skills, business etiquette, and professional connections. The Goshen Chamber of Commerce will
play a vital role in supporting the program, offering resources and connections to the local business
community.
“This is more than a class, it’s a transformational opportunity for students to grow as innovators and leaders,”
said Goshen Community Schools Superintendent Jim DuBois. “We’re proud to bring Startup Moxie to
Goshen.”
The program will launch in Fall 2025. Individuals or organizations interested in supporting Startup Moxie, as
mentors, guest speakers, or partners, are encouraged to reach out to Goshen High School for more
information.
